Ethics vs Business


Its been  a while since the last update to this going popular “ Unofficial Site for all Official News of Connectiva”

The question of Ethics, Ethical Practices in Business have been plaguing the Management world for long but it has proven again, beyond doubt, Ethics are least of importance in BUSINESS.

There were some hope of revival and plight of ex-Connectivites been heard after the takeover from Mara – Ison, but that hope no longer exists after the talk of respectable personality from Mara – Ison recently.

Mara-Ison has formally acknowledged of acquisition of Connectiva effective June 18th 2012. All the employees are informed either to accept the new offer letter or be left out in dark, though they did give reasonable hike to most of the staff.  Connectiva as a legal entity will exist to respond to the legal law suits and creditors, quoting Mara-Ison’s words “ Connectiva could have been bought , but during our due diligence we found many issues that prohibits us to buy the company as is basis. Worst being the Management of Connectiva having no clear understanding of how many outstanding dues exists and to which parties “.

So Mara-Ison has created a new entity “Mara Ison Services “ to take care of all the Connectiva staff. Now comes the reality of Ethics vs Business.

The new entity of Mara-Ison Services though has its own CEO , guess who the PRESIDENT is ?...

None other than our “CEO of Connectiva ( AB )”, Congrats to grab the PRESIDENT Title after playing with the lives of more than 200+ families and responsible as CEO for the plight of  Connectiva.

So dear all the World Wide Web readers and experts monitoring Connectiva , waiting for some official news, Avi Basu heads the newly created entity of Mara-Ison Services as PRESIDENT.

Adding more , from the speech of Mr Respected rep of Mara-Ison, the new entity is clearly responsible and will take care of the employees signing the contract effective June 18th 2012 , and any historical debts, issues etc are to be directed to Connectiva Systems. Mara-Ison has / is paying Connectiva towards the transaction and has instructed Connectiva Management ( the left over Management ) to sort out history.

Isnt it great the way GAMES are PLAYED on the individual LIVES while BUSINESSES continue to grow …

I leave this note with a simple question to learned few…

How should an existing / ex employee fighting for his dues, contact Mr Avi Basu, given he is PRESIDENT of Mara-ISON Services and they only have obligation after June 18th 2012.

It’s a double Whammy and Avi , we can only say you scored a HOME RUN very well.. 

Just wondering what is going to be the fate of Customers who are going to face the same Management but with a new business card ...

Is it too late ... for Mara-Ison ?

Hello Everyone,

While I can only sympathize with the fellow ex-CTVA's and members who partly believe the posts here, and still living in a hope of recovering the funds they have lost , i can only wish them a good luck.

For some reason we begin to wonder if the deal is too late ( though rumors are that its the cheapest deal ever made in an asset purchase sale ), the purchase price was the mortgage cost of the Kolkata property of ??? ( Do Not want to reveal too much here ).

There are few developments which make us to say so..one of them primarily being at a Major Telecom Operator in Western India, where CTVA solution is used , managed, and supported by CTVA own staff, the Operator lately ( last 2 months ) decided to handover the complete solution, support and maintenance to a direct Competitor.

So now Subex team is formally managing, supporting CTVA solution at this location...Days are not far if we have to believe the RA team of Telco in spot here, plans are going on already to run a parallel Subex solution...

The above is already in execution, and would appreciate the dear friends/critics of this blog to verify on their own, before making any statements about the blog.

Mara-Ison , just make sure that you are equally not duped by the Account Management in believing everything is favoring CTVA as that is what has led to this state of CTVA ....

While i dont think the buyers are as Naive, but while we cannot help recover our funds, but hoping someone is not loosing his knowingly..

The DEAL is Signed...

Hello Everyone,

The news never stops , making it a busy day for posting the content right before weekend .

As per the latest report , last night (31st May 2012 ) the deal between Connectiva and Mara-ISON is inked , signed and sealed.

While the official message is going to be coming only after the founders/loyalists get their goodies , favours taken care but for the world hopefully who are following this blog, the news is a breaking news.

the nitty gritty details did take some time to come up with the final agreed stuff.

The best being CTVA as entities will remain for legalities, and the new company is been named as "MARIZON".

After Financial Torture, Emotional Torture Continues ....

What is more upsetting now a days is the way the CTVA + Mara – ISON team is working hand in glove to ensure they do not leave any stone unturned in harassing/torturing their existing staff and also the past employees. Looks they are working on the emotional angle now following the leads from CIA movies etc

Let me tell you how..

1.       First most of the staff who left or stuck with CTVA were not paid atleast Quarter of the yearly salary ( 3-4 months ).
2.       Then their taxes , PF are not yet deposited, while few lucky ones made it into the tax/PF system ( 0.1%).
3.       Now most of them are coming of in their new jobs, healing their wounds, while keeping the fight on with the system, CTVA MAFIA and their supporters in recovering the dues.

So where is the harassment coming into play … here it comes…

1.       Recently over the last 2-3 weeks CTVA+MARA-ISON jointly is making frantic efforts to call all the ex-employees and luring them with a 25% minimal raise.
2.       That is not all, the key members are sent with the offer letter , with a blank number , giving a range and asking them to come back and participate in the revival of CTVA.
3.       The company and their loyal guards , are even going to extent of offering jobs OUTSIDE INDIA for the employees located in INDIA, and incentivizing them to take it up ASAP.
4.       While in all the above context, there is NO MENTION , still of the outstanding historical payments .. isn’t that more than torture ..or shall I quote an Hindi saying “Jaley pey Namak ..” translating it to” Salt on wounds…. “

So why so much meherbaani ( benevolence …) been thrown up on the ex-staffers, few insider data again…

1.       CTVA has lost good amount of customer base, or shall I say customers are not paying / renewing the contracts for MS, Support etc.
2.       Recent lost accounts are NAWRAS ( Oman ), ASIACELL ( IRAQ), UMOBILE ( Malaysia ), VIVA (BAHRAIN), VIDEOTRON ( Canada), ELION ( Europe), NEXTEL ( USA), T-MOBILE ( GERMANY) .. all in the last few months. Few of the above accounts were as old as the company itself.
3.       This makes the new investors / buyers ( I really doubt if any money was paid , except bailing out the founders / loyalists of their personal debts ) a bit wary on long term play.
4.       Considering Mara-ISON is purely a Services firm, now venturing into Product, they have all the right to protect their interests ( no issue in them thinking the way they are ).
5.       Also there is a big threat for other customers to follow the same exit strategy, ie do not ask anything more from CTVA, freeze the system as is, and wait for alternative…
6.       In some cases, CTVA customers have already asked the competitors to Manage the CTVA system and eventually replace it with their system which the new Mgmt would never want to…

So its makes all sense for the CTVA to push , pull, threat and do all its necessary to get the old timers even atleast for next 6 months , so they get out of mess and then leave the employees back into “DARKNESS”…

Mama.. Who took the cream from the churn...

Dear All,

While it may have taken a while for posting further progress on the fate of Connectiva , i am sure reading the blog will give you reasons for the delay.  All i can say any undercover discussion and data gathering does take time....

So what is making NEWS for Connectiva Followers ?

While the Management ( CEO is the only one left ) is still not confirmed the sale of Connectiva to Mara-Ison ( http://www.mara-ison.com/) , but they did acknowledge the discussions have reached to a very mature stage and at any time the transaction is going to be closed.

Wondering why its taking so long to sign the deal, even when there are people from Mara-Ison at our Kolkata office , and few calls been made to ex-colleagues , to be part of revival ...

Few closed door confessions from the informed lot are as below....

a. Connectiva and Mara-Ison  ownership is working on "How not to pay the old staff " and yet retain the glory of the company.

b. Our good founding members and their closely knitted followers are working to see how to clear their personal debts as part of this transaction ... I do not want to name what personal debts but i am sure everyone is aware being in Kolkata what is mortgaged for Connectiva ....

So what is coming out of the pot ....

a. Connectiva India will still exists as a legal entity , carrying only the debt of all the creditors....WOW ..
b. Connectiva founders and so called following lot , will be well taken care in this transaction to avoid any personal financial losses.
c. Connectiva USA will also exist as to only carry the debt and to answer to all the legal suits raised ..

I am sure by now you can realize who took the cream from the churn is an apt title for the blog...

So my dear fellow colleagues , rest assured except PF & TAX we are going to get nothing but a big "Thumbs Up " , and our dear Management will be basking on an Hawaii Island ...

So if there are still more people willing to believe the story of revival and 20% hike as promised on the phone calls received , just think before you take a plunge. Given as of today even the April 2nd installment salary is not made to few banks , how  can we take the promises as serious and compromise to our future...

Moral Bankruptcy leads to ...

As the wise say " Trust No One until they prove you worthy enough ", surprisingly the Management has not yet come out of their so called Inner Trusted Advisers who have no interest except to keep themselves being paid forever at cost of others.

Seems aptly fit for the Quote "

Anyone who really has interest in the Company, would be hoping to get sale completed and help the dues cleared both on personal level and to government and all the lenders making it a healthy closure.



So why above statements ?, Seems our advisers have come up with a new way of managing the chaos until Next Friday (which Friday is always a question )  ?

In a recently concluded meeting between top Mgmt of Connectiva and counterparts from "BIGGEST SI" of Connectiva  in Delhi, its been agreed for sale of source code of Adapters and Parsers to "SI" in return to some part payments which are stuck...

So for a layman, does it not sound to be a remarkable idea ? Of course you give nothing but a DVD of source code and get a good sum of money. 

Our commonsense makes us believe its another new ploy employed to drag the story long and avoid any reaction from the community. Considering you cannot have multiple owners for same piece of property which is for sale. Looking big picture how can anyone else buy the Company to help clear their dues, if part of the code is sold to one "SI" ...considering Adapters and Parsers are heart and soul of any solution been deployed globally by Connectiva...What will happen to other users of the code, will they land up paying royalty to "SI" ?..

Hi Everyone,

While the published partial list has attracted enough Media & Individual attention, but for the critics reading this, we assure that list has put us into limelight and attracted enough attention from various sections of the society.

Be assured on behalf of all the painful unpaid , uncleared employees who went through enough Agony in their personal and professional lives, the creators of this pain will not have an easy escape.

It will not be too late when a leading National TV News channel is going to cover it and they are only holding on our permission to bring it into open. The reason for wait is to see if any movement on the statutory dues are cleared by Company both to employees and Government, especially TDS, PF etc by end of this financial year March 2012.

Lets keep our pressure and be prepared to take the actions to the next level , considering the thick skin Management has no feelings for our pains...

Customer's Mails pouring in ...

Let me start the first post of the Month by the Quote from Martin Luther King ...

While the so called Action Hero of CTVA (Jack) is missing and avoiding all his customers , and the deputy is working his magic in giving all the excuses in guise of Managing the account , poor customers are caught in between the Never Meeting Commitments of the existing Managers vs their day to day activities and trust on the system to deliver the promises being  in hung state .....
So what is Happening in time of Chaos ....
Surprisingly, customers got hold of our blog  through connections, and in last fortnight , there are more than 15+ customers ( unique ) sending mails to this Blog account asking for more insider information from the employees union fighting mgmt.
Quoting one of the oldest Client of Connectiva , "Hi Employees, I am sure you know me considering we worked together for the last few years on the XXXX account together. While i am in constant touch with your company to understand the latest state of affairs and how far will this problem of Connectiva will continue, we hardly get any clear responses from the people on the call. Tired of listening to excuses and receiving project plans which are never adhered to from Acct Team, we forced Avi to join our calls , which has also not made much difference ".  I am writing after going through the blog site , to see if you have any insider information on state of affairs giving me some clarity.  On a personal level i sympathize with you all and wish that you do get success and Connectiva turns the corner making it good for both you and us.
We humbly thank all the customers who are informally supporting us, and we are also not AGAINST Connectiva going down, we wish and would like to have the Company bounce back and help your cause and our cause. Our issue is the way the entire thing was handled and at the right time Management not being transparent to all employees. Our wishes are still there to see a positive outcome, but with the greed and money in minds even today , the solution seems to be too far from reality. Even today in Connectiva Kolkata we have more than 6+ FINANCE STAFF and 4+ Account Management people doing WHAT ? I believe they are still trying to find the lost money ...hunt is on for the bounty ...

Blog Makes News in RA Forum...

Finally it seems the pain of all Cheated Employees is making some news in global forums.
Very happy to see that the blog made its entry to the homepage of http://www.talkra.com ( the primary website of RA folks globally ).

We wish in similar way the India Govt / Law Agencies take active action against the directors of CTVA as they have done with Teleonto MD ...

Is the Board listening or probing as where has the money provided by them gone ?... Someone in the Mgmt should be accountable ...





Blame Game Starts ...

Hi Readers,

Its been a while since the last posting , given busy work over last few weeks.
With almost the cream of CTVA staff left , the Management now started to get to the real work in understanding what has brought the so called World Leader in RA, to this state of affairs.
I am happy that someone is making an attempt to even understand where and what is reality , coming out of the dream world created by them...to an extent as below

a. Our Great COO went to an extent of promising bonus to staff who can stay back and fight the battle to recover the money from customers and help in restoring some of the glory of CTVA.

b. Our CEO has spent most of his time to understand how under his ABLE guidance the company reached to such a shame state ... i think he is still figuring out where he spent the time as CEO while the company was being literally going down the drain ...


So what is making headlines now ?


a. F&F papers have started to come for employees resigned in Feb 2011 , what an effective timelines .. again no time given for the payments of outstanding dues ...

b. COO ( Jack ) is on the RUN, currently as per the floor news, staying in Singapore/USA / ??? . Mr Jack have the balls to face the facts than hiding in your house with no way to reach you .... Be a Man , have some ethics once showing your leadership  .....

c. The BLAME GAME show continues,to an extent of CFO of Connectiva behind funds Swindling and hence the state of affairs .... what ever may be the case, no clue if its true to fact, the basic governance was lacking and we feel CEO is accountable ....

d. TechnoIndia office is still not accessible and hence all servers, paperwork etc is still in-accessible.

e. CTVA is on SALE, but even at this hour the expectations are to make a HUGE PROFIT. Wake up Avi & Team, come out of DREAM world given only 60 employees ( those who could not get any job yet ) are only left at Kolkata what sort of GREAT NEWS is on table for buyers / customers.

Appeal


We as joint affected employees are hoping that the blog and its content while creates negative feeling overall , but is the only option for us to come out in open considering the treatment given to us, and absolute lack of intent from Mgmt to repay out dues.

Not to take names but with the real pillars of CTVA leaving in first week of Feb, we see no hope of our dues be paid ... Our next blog post is going to be the consolidated values of outstanding payments be made public in hope of the embarrassment to at least force  them to clear some of the dues ...The hope is every cleared due will be posted online till everyone is settled their parts...

Exec Management Missing ...

What a pity .. and how much can you stoop down in morale, ethics and responsibilities...

COO -- Missing in action and no longer on ground to focus on resolving the situation... For a brief period of time he was there ( 3 days last week ) , stayed @ 5 star ... wow
CEO -- Battled his best and is now left the battle ground ...
???? --  No clue who is incharge of the state of affairs now ...

F&F Papers are not yet delivered as promised to be done on 15th Jan... and Finance Head does not have time to discuss with employees the numbers ... The earliest available appointment is in Feb 2012...

CTVA Cheating Makes it to Telegraph

Finally the news made it to the Media and hope to see some turn around in the way Management is going to react to our woes. For now the information is not quoting Connectiva name, but its just beginning in hope of some responses to our pains ...

While some of fellow staff have accepted ( though not will fully ) but under "No other options left" to make money , the offer from the CTVA on taking 15 days salary and leaving the job (without a job ).
This is unfortunate fate of the staff or the treatment to staff who spent their valuable time to bring company this glory after years of service.... I pity them but they do have social / family obligations
...

This is just the beginning and I leave it here for now.....

Jan 12 - 2012

Jan 12th Update

#1. There has been no F&F letters issued to any of the staff who either is terminated or resigned. The reasons given are been very vague and irrespective of people daily visiting to the office and meeting "CxO" daily , except for excuses no firm date yet shared.
#2. Plans of reviving the company by meeting client demands in the short run, making small reachable targets. To be done by retaining a skeletal staff, who all have been paid 2 weeks salary for January in advance. People who are still in the payroll but who did not receive part-salary are not needed by the organization. They were given the offer to resign (sacking would mean paying up the dues) and in return receive a fraction of their monthly salaries. The fraction currently stands at 25% and its again first come first served basis , given the funds in hand are very limited. Their dues till Dec 31st will be honoured when money is available. This offer for voluntary resignation is valid till current funds last. Couple of days time for consideration is given to each.
#3. Connectiva is still working to see how best they can pay the dues to State & Central government . As of now none of the payments of PF , TDS ( deducted from employees globally ) has been deposited to the State/Central Government. NO DATE YET SHARED when will they pay the money.
#4. USA / Israel offices officially closed and their employees sacked without any reason. The dues to them is also pending and the company has no value to legal notices shared.
#5. The Techno India building office is sealed by the owner due to lack of payment of funds towards rental. Its due for more than 1 year. The new office J2 is been used as makeshift place to run the operations.
#6. On average 3 people are resigning the company daily basis and even the stalwarts are no longer @ CTVA. Customers beware on what sort of promises are been made by management.
#7. The total number of employees impacted through this is more than 200+.

Introduction & Purpose

Connectiva Systems Inc. (www.connectivasystems.com)  has been a wonderful and enriching experience for most of us. We have done high quality work, have acquired large number of customers within a very short period of time and generated  goodwill and a solid reputation in the market place.

However, as an organization,  we have been quite pathetic in managing our finances and not being paid for the last three months( Since October 2011 ). The going has been really difficult and we also must express our disappointment in the manner in which the organization has been managed. We expected the Executive Management to have been far more vigilant and exerted more control on matters that have led us to this situation. Things could have been averted much earlier and the ungraceful state of the affairs which is executed on ground could have been avoided. We as employees are paying the price for this lack of proper vigilance.  There needs to be clear accountability for the current state of affairs, and the people responsible must be dealt with appropriately.

We seek clarification on  and commitment towards all employee payables (which includes unpaid salaries, unpaid bonus for the period of FY 11, tax deducted but not credited, annual and variable components, gratuities, Professional Taxes, Provident Funds). We have been extremely supportive of the organization thus far, however, there is a point beyond which we can reasonably be expected to be remunerated and rewarded for our efforts.  We have kept the business going in spite of not being paid for the past couple of months, but now our patience and forbearance are at an end.

As of Jan 12 2012, the state of affairs are as follows , and with no decision in favour of the employees, we had no choice but to take us woes public and if required to the customers who are "using our solutions and products".

Request the readers of the blog to understand our woes and in the world of digital media and social networking we do hope to seek justice in this format , as the company which provides Anti Fraud solutions itself is involved in the BIGGEST SCAM/FRAUD of the decade against its loyal workforce who sweat their blood to bring the organization to this level.
